TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION SET TO UNLEASH ‘PEACEMAKER’

Posted 16 May 2012 in Texas Hippie Coalition

EXPLOSIVE NEW SINGLE “TURN IT UP” AVAILABLE MAY 15

Red dirt metal rockers Texas Hippie Coalition will release their long-awaited new album ‘Peacemaker,’ on Carved Records this summer. This is the third studio album for THC, which features the recording line-up of Big Dad Ritch (vocals), Randy Cooper (guitar), John Exall (Bass Guitar), Wes Wallace (guitar) and Timmy Braun (drums).

Recorded in Los Angeles, THC enlisted multi-platinum producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Anvil, Saliva, Filter) to help the band further explore their capabilities. The result: eleven highly charged songs brimming with THC’s signature sound of Southern-fried classic rock, outlaw country and Texas metal. “We have a new producer and we already know who we are and what our brand is, so with this album, we decided that the boundaries we set for ourselves [are] in the past. We would cut that barbed wire and explore beyond those fences” says THC’s frontman Big Dad Ritch.

Drawing inspiration from legendary rock ‘n’ roll outlaws and classic rockers including Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and ZZ Top, THC has hit its stride on ‘Peacemaker’ while paying homage to Southern rock’s and country’s cultural milemarkers. “Top of my head, tip of my tongue, deep in my heart, in the bottom of my lungs, that’s where songs come from. There is no blue print” Big Dad Ritch said. “The outlaw spirit is still alive today. That is our goal: Bring it back.”

On ‘Peacemaker’, the visceral “Damn You To Hell,” is arguably the heaviest song THC has written. “Think Of Me” is admittedly “the closest thing to a love song that this band would ever do.” Other songs that typify Red Dirt Metal include “8 Seconds” and “You Ain’t Seen Me,” which Ritch also admits is “as southern-fried as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet.”

The title song is a brilliantly written tune, told from the perspective of a gun. Ritch said, “I thought, ‘What would that gun say to people?’” That’s not something you come across every day in rock music, and it’s further evidence of how Texas Hippie Coalition are rewriting the rule book.

THC’s explosive new single “Turn It Up” will be available for purchase on May 15 and impacts radio on May 22. Check out a preview here. Click here to purchase.

Texas Hippie Coalition was Carved Records inaugural signing in 2009. Their anthemic single, “Pissed Off and Mad About It,” landed in the Top Ten of the CMJ Loud Rock Chart and generated extensive radio play all across the country. THC is known for their high intensity, raucous live performances and continue to tour extensively all over the world.

TYLER BRYANT CONTRIBUTES TO SCORE FOR TIM BURTON’S ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Posted 10 May 2012 in Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown

May 10, 2012 / Nashville, TN – Astounding rocker Tyler Bryant was recently tapped to contribute to Jim Lemley and Tim Burton’s long awaited new 3D action/thriller Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The film, which is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and produced by Tim Burton and Jim Lemley, will be released onJune 22, 2012 by 20th Century Fox.

“There is a profound mixture of attitude and virtuosity in Tyler’s playing and we wanted it in the music of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER…thankfully he said yes!” said producer Jim Lemley.

Bryant displays his impeccable skills as the featured guitarist on the Abraham Lincoln soundtrack, composed by illustrious composer Henry Jackman.  Jackman has written scores for numerous blockbusters including X-Men: First Class, and Puss in Boots.

Bryant, along with his band the Shakedown, had a banner year in 2011. Their single “Shackles” was iTunes’ Discovery Download during November 2011 and they were featured in the iTunes “Rock on the Rise” section for over 8 weeks. Bryant opened for Jeff Beck’s 2011 tour and has shared the stage with a handful of legends including Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, Paul Simon, Heart, B.B. King, Pat Benatar and Styx. Additionally, Bryant was featured in the award-winning documentary Rock Prophecies and was the first unsigned artist to have a song in Guitar Hero.

In other news, Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown are working with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, The Hives) at Sweet Tea Studios where they are putting the finishing touches on their new album, which comes out later this year on Carved Records.

Texas Hippie Coalition: The Making of Peacemaker Part 6

A Note to THC Fans

A message to Texas Hippie Coalition fans from manager Brad White:

It is with great sadness that I deliver this message to the friends, fans and “Coalition” members.

Our Brother Randy “The Arsonist “ Cooper is taking leave from Texas Hippie Coalition to deal with an immediate health condition. Unfortunately, Randy has suffered a tear in one of the tendons in his right arm connecting to the bicep which will require surgery and 6-12 months of rehab. Therefore, he will not be touring with the band this year.

We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on Randy’s condition while he goes through the healing process.

We are asking for your prayers, positive thoughts and support during this tough time.

Brad White
Creative Management Group

Randy, all of us at Carved are praying for your speedy recovery and continued good health.
